Jude 1:4

For there are certain men crept in unawares, Who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

As the morals and the way of life deteriorate in our beloved county, the more Christians and Baptist churches are expected to lower Biblical principles and compromise. The worst thing is to be tempted by our fellow Christians and Baptist leaders to lower God’s standards. We are commanded by the Bible to be separate from those who compromise eternal truth, regardless of who they are or who they think they are. Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. What has happened to Baptists who once contended “for the faith”? Are there any left? What about you?

One of the biggest problems seems to be a demonic inspired beer drinking mentality that influences and controls some members of modern churches. (Even some that don’t drink). I feel very uncomfortable in a church where people act like they are in a bar, dress like they are in a bar, talk like they are in a bar, and sing like they are in a bar. Jude referred to this mentality, or lack of mentality, as “lasciviousness”. We didn’t need dumbing down before their invasion.

While traveling I stopped at a Baptist church and I never felt so much out of place in my life. I started to tell’em that you would have welcomed me if I had brought my fiddle and left my King James Bible at the house. It would have helped if I had a tattoo and had not been in a coat and tie. God have mercy on those that bring God’s work down to their low-life level. This is nothing but Sunday morning raw!

The word, “lasciviousness” means unbridled lust. More than a bridle needs to be put on people in church who have gone wild. Some belong in a zoo. The things that are happening in the contemporary movement are impossible to accept by someone who grew up respecting the house of God. I am not talking about being an old foggy; I am talking about being descent and civilized in the house of God. I Timothy 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

There was a large number of little boys in the church that I grew up in. But we knew not to misbehave in church. We also knew that there were some bushes in front of the church and they were not there for decorative purposes. They were there to furnish switches to parents whose little boys misbehaved in church. We may have been country boys, but we acted right in church.

What happened to the great things that the god of education was supposed to do. My uneducated grandparents acted better in church than some college and seminary graduates do. Why are we allowing shallow and ungodly religious people to drag us into the gutter when we should be leading them to higher ground???

Another glaring problem is that of flirting with other denominations. Hosea 7:11 “Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.” In my life time Baptists have gone from fighting ecumenism to accepting it. We need to quit compromising! We don’t need ecumenism or globalism. I though we had the Bible! I thought that we had the truth. We have given into the enemy without a fight and welcomed him with open arms.

Another hideous problem that the non-denominational movement has bred is that of stealing churches. This has always been an isolated problem, but now it is out of hand. Growing up we learned that the Southern Baptist convention would steal your church. But, now they don’t have to steal them because we are giving them away. I told one of the members of Highland Convention Baptist Church in Roswell, NM that we wanted our church back from the convention. I also told the pastor of a church in Hobbs, NM that we wanted our church back from nondenominationalism.

Even a few Independent Baptists in New Mexico have been guilty of this very thing. I realize that each church is free to choose not to be identified with anything which is best. Sometimes things go wrong and you have to get out. But I am talking about those who creep in for the very purpose of taking the building. If you creep in for the purpose of stealing a church building then creep out! I am talking about thieves. “For there are certain men crept in unawares…” Stealing is wrong even if you think that you are zealous. The Holy Spirit doesn’t drive nor lead anyone to seal money nor a church. The devil does! Let everyone build their own buildings. If you didn’t buy it; it ain’t yours!

Apparently we have been like the proverbial ostrich with it’s head in the sand. Many seem to have the idea that things are alright. But the mentality of many are putting Baptists out of business. You cannot bury your head in the sand of positivism without things getting worse. Neither can you help by interfering with those who are fighting error. We have severe problems. Folks, we are going to have to face reality, repent, and get back to God and truth! Our problem is sin and there is only one solution and that one solution is repentance.

If we keep doing what we are doing we are going to keep on getting what we are getting and things in the Baptist world will keep getting worse!

Not only does it need to stop, it needs to go in reverse back to “The Good Old Days” when God and His Word were respected by church people. And don’t use love for people as an excuse if you compromise love for God and for His Word.

If there was ever a time when we needed God in our lives, in our churches, in our families, and in our country, it is now. If there ever was a time when we needed to stand; it is now! Its time for the men in America and in true churches to take a stand instead of siding up with those in error!

Instead is seeing how low you can go, see how high you can go by raising your standards up to the principles of the Bible. Remember we are seated “together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”...

Never ever allow the modern religious low lifes to drag you, your family, nor your church into the gutter which is so popular today. Old time Baptists are responsible for putting the Bride of Christ high upon a pestle instead of dragging her down. It’s time for war in the religious world! Because it seems to be the only answer to combating “lasciviousness”.

HOW LOW CAN YOU GO
