Genesis 3:6 

     Here we see two of the most common problems of mankind. Many women will not listen to God and many men listen to women instead of God. Man is very weak in his nature thereby making him very open to the temptations of others, especially the opposite sex. (Young ladies need to avoid the wrong kind of young men as well.) Too many times the well liked and popular easy going man gives into others even when they are wrong.

    When men give into women when they tempt them to do wrong the man is as guilty as the woman or should I say more guilty. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 5:12 Even though the woman initiated sin the man is held responsible for letting it happen. Many times men just let it happen. Men bite the apple when they should be biting the bullet. Yes, you will get into trouble when you don’t go along with those who are wrong. But if you bite the apple now you are going to get in trouble with God. You get into trouble twice in a situation like this. Then you will need a bullet to bite while God is chastening you. One way or the other we will have to bite the bullet. It’s better to bite the bullet at the very beginning and stay out of trouble with God. Because you will get into trouble with some women regardless of what you do. So bite the bullet and God will bless you for it, even if it is later. Today, men need to be tougher instead of becoming weaker than women. It has gotten to the point in some churches where the women run everything. God forbid! There is no place for hen-pecked men in the home, the church, or the nation. Things will not change in Baptist churches or this nation until men become men once again and quit biting apples. Its past time for men to bite the bullet. Men which will it be—the bullet or the apple? Women what are you going to offer your men? When your man is under pressure stand by him and encourage him to be brave. Offer him a bullet instead of an apple.

     Timid men need to quit giving into over bearing and bossy women. Men need to quit giving in to the woman who is a smooth operator. In either case, men need to bite the bullet. The inspired word of God empathically teaches that the man is to be head of house. “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;” Ephesians 5:23-25 Both the husband and wife are directly and personally responsible to God for obeying this important command. Christ has the right to rule His church because He loved it enough to die for it. The man should love his wife enough to die for her. And the wife should respect her husband enough to cooperate with him as he leads the household. That is the way it is! God said it and that settles it. The sooner we get back to God’s way the sooner things will starting getting better in this country and especially in the Lord’s churches. The sooner men learn to bite the bullet instead of the apple the better off we all will be. Men, what will it be the next time you are offered an apple. Are you going to be a big fish and bite again or will you be obedient to God and bite the bullet.

     Sometimes the temptation takes us unawares. Sometimes there is demonic pressure connected with the temptation. Every time Jesus was tempted by Satan He bit the bullet. Jesus set the example by refusing to yield to any temptation. He met each temptation with scripture and defeated the devil.

     Men need to learn to quit trying to be lady’s men and be God’s men. God did not save men for the purpose of pleasing women but for the purpose of pleasing him. And the godly woman will want her man to please God. I had heard Paul called a male chauvinist pig. Nothing could be further from the truth. Paul said that the husband was to love his wife. But Paul believed that the man should be controlled by God instead of the woman. A woman may be more intelligent and more successful than her husband but if she pushes ahead of him in the home she is in rebellion against God. I Peter 3:1-6 “Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.” Ladies call your husband, lord… as Sara did Abraham. 

In conclusion, both the man and woman should be obedient to God.
